Discussion III: Disability Burden (Old Age Wellbeing Program)

Component I: Old Age Well Being Program (webinar series) Webinar Series on Old Age Well Being – A joint programme of Social Protection Resource Centre (SPRC) and Pakistan Alliance for Social Protection (PASP). It is a three-month SPRC-PASP Old Age Well Being Programme. 1st session on 3rd July, 2020 is to discuss ‘Role of Employees’ Old Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) in Old Age Well Being in Pakistan’. 2nd session on 18th July, 2020 aims at exploring the ‘Linkages Between the Disease Burden and the Old Age Well Being in Pakistan’. 3rd session on 25th July, 2020 is discussing ‘Old Age and Disability’. And 4th session on 8th August is about pension reform i.e. ‘Moving from Limited, Lifelong Pensions to a Universal Pension System in Pakistan. The Programme would be culminating on the 1st of October 2020, on the UN’s International Day for Older Persons, with the release of a Report on the State of Old Age Well Being in Pakistan. As a part of this Programme, we are also compiling a Compendium of Laws and Regulations on Old Age Well Being in Pakistan and undertaking a Participants Perception Survey on the Old Age Well Being concepts, care situation in Pakistan at present and the way forward.
