PASP Inaugural Meeting

Pakistan Alliance for Social Protection (PASP) has been created by 25 leading organizations in Pakistan to promote the cause of Social Protection. The discussion on establishing the alliance started in early 2020 greatly necessitated due to the eruption of the global pandemic that has jolted the socio-economic systems worldwide. It has played a pivotal role in exposing the already vulnerable health system and the poor state of the social protection system in Pakistan bringing forth the much-needed reforms in the form of introducing Universal Social Protection System (USPS). In this regard, the Pakistan Alliance for Social Protection (PASP) was established with an aim to ensure a common cause of ‘Minimum Social Protection for all at All Times as a responsibility of the State’. In PASP the focus shall be on the following core areas and underlying values: Alliance Building, Knowledge Creation and, Advocacy and Advisory.
