First Discussion of Old Age Well Being Programme by Social Protection Resource Centre (SPRC) and Pakistan Alliance for Social Protection (PASP) on Role of Employees’ Old Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) in Old Age Well Being in Pakistan

The state of well-being of the old people in any society is a reflection on many aspects of the society: Equity, Valuation of Work, Institutional Capacity to run Old Age Benefit Programmes etc. Pakistan Alliance for Social Protection (PASP) and the Social Protection Resource Centre (SPRC) Islamabad, a Think Tank dedicated to universalization of Social Protection in Pakistan, where PASP is housed, have adopted the Universal Old Age Benefits as one of the key pillars of its Common Cause i.e., Minimum Social Protection to All, at All Times, as a Responsibility of State. Being acutely aware that the Old Age Well Being is an inter-generational responsibility to which all of us should contribute to discharge this responsibility, SPRC has initiated a Research and Development Programme aimed at enhancing the Old Age Well-Being in Pakistan. Employees' Old Age Benefit Institution (EOBI), Ministry of Oversees Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Government of Pakistan, plays a central role in ensuring Old Age Well-Being. EOBI is upgrading itself to better face the growing challenges. This Webinar aims at discussing these reform plans in detail with the relevant experts.
